(22) Rochester entertainment of a Copinger

   

In the Rochester records published by the Kent Archæological Society in 1858, appears the following entry :-

"A note of all such somes of money as have bine disbursed by me, Richard Harlowe, Maior of the cittie of Rochester, for the use of the saide cittie, anno domini 1578, as followeth:  Item, for wine given to Mr. Coppinger uppon a courte daye, where he dined at my house viz j pottell of sacke, j gallon of gaskine wine, and halfe a pounde of sugar, iijs. vjd."
